COB LED Strip Lights
COB LED stands for Chip on Board Light Emitting Diode lighting. It means the diodes emitting light are mounted directly onto a printed circuit board (PCB). In this case, the PCB is in the form of a long thin strip and COB technology means that many LEDs can be fitted close together. When the LEDs are covered in a diffusing strip of plastic it gives the effect of a single strip of light with no dim patches or “spotting”.
Also known as LED tape, COB LED strips are an incredibly versatile lighting solution for any problematic space where traditional lighting can’t fit. With their incredibly low profile of just a few millimetres and adhesive backing, LED strips can be easily attached under cabinets, shelves, countertops, and even beds and stair treads.
COB strip lighting comes in various fixed colour temperatures from 3000K (warm white) to 6400K (blue white) or in RGB (red, green, blue). RGB LED lights are adjustable and can be set to any colour on the RGB spectrum using a remote controller.
COB LED strips operate at low wattage (usually 10W) so are highly energy efficient and emit very little heat. Consequently, COB LED light strips can be left on for a long time, brightening dark corners in spaces that are used most of the day or night including corridors and offices. This low heat emission also improves their lifespan and COB strip lights can last an estimated 50,000 hours of use.
Our COB strip lights are rater IP20 which means they can be used for indoor lighting only, but the ability to cut and solder strips to any length makes them incredibly versatile. Full details on fitting our COB strip lighting, cutting and joining strips, and our custom soldering service to make customised lengths are available here.
Use our COB LED strip lights in places you never before considered being able to put a lighting feature to brighten your home or office environment tastefully and creatively.
