How do I choose a portable power station?
Our portable power stations come in 3 sizes; 300W, 500W, and 1000W. Choose the one that best suits your power needs for your camping or other outdoor trips. You can charge up the power station from your home supply before leaving on your trip and to top-up or completely recharge the unit while away from home you can use solar panels (sold separately) or from your car battery via the cigarette lighter adapter (included). All our power stations include a wireless charging pad, compatible with any Qi wireless charging device up to 10W.
What can a 300W portable power station run?
Any AC electrical device up to 300W from a single 220v plug or any USB-A or USB-C device. You can charge your phone or tablet, play TV or stream internet services if there is a WIFI signal. The portable power station also has a 12v DC output so will run 12v lighting or other small electrical devices.
What will a 500W power station run?
Any AC electrical device up to 500W from a single 220v plug. It will easily manage lighting, a camping TV, tablet, and phone charging as well as a medium-sized stereo system or a Bluetooth speaker.
How long will a portable power station last?
This will depend on what you plug into it and for how long. The 300W model has 288W hours of energy and the 500 has 568W hours.
Can you leave a portable power station plugged in all the time?
Yes, because our portable power supplies include overheating and overcharging cut-out technologies.
What can you plug into a power station?
Any low-wattage electrical device. Smaller models will run lighting while larger models will cope with small cooking devices such as hotplates up to 1000W and small heaters.
What is the difference between an inverter and a portable power station?
Inverters convert DC to AC power or vice-versa. Hybrid inverters may include a small battery for power storage but they are both designed for use within your home and not for outdoor camping trips.
Can our portable power stations run a TV and heater?
Yes, camping TVs can run at 18W so your power station will run one for several hours before needing a recharge. Heaters are trickier as they generally run around 800 – 1000W so could only be run for a short time. Some have a lower, 400W setting so these would last longer.
